General Information
Noak Hill Archers is an archery club providing the opportunity for any person, who can meet the criteria, to take up the sport of archery in all it’s modern, ancient and traditional forms. This includes field, target, and clout archery, we do not allow the use of crossbows. The club is affiliated to all the major archery governing bodies such as the GNAS and NFAS. It should be noted that Noak Hill Archers do not allow junior members without and parent or responsible adult joining as well and children are not permitted to attend the club with out a parent or responsible adult being present at the same time, we do not allow children to attend without a responsible adult present while at the club.
Shooting We have access to the shooting areas three days during the week and Saturday and Sunday. Many of our archers choose to shoot in competitions throughout the year. These range from short distance indoor competitions to the longest rounds and distances. Other archers just choose to shoot once or twice a week and enjoy the atmosphere and clean fresh air (well, as clean as it gets in Essex). We have archers that shoot a variety of bow disciplines, from very traditional bows right up to high precision compounds. Our covered canopy allows members to shoot all distances in inclement weather but for collection of arrows you must venture out in the rain. Our covered area does provide an enclosed area for indoor practice at a distance of 20 Yards
CoachingWe have a very able coaching team at Noak Hill Archers, all of whom are always more than happy to give assistance when it is requested, if archers are experiencing difficulties. They are also available (upon request) for formal coaching as well as providing Beginners Courses for those that are new to the sport. (See Beginners Courses section for more information)
