I am pleased to be able to write a blog spotlighting one of Noak Hills high achieving female archers - Sharon Lawrence.
Sharon is a very good archer with her recurve bow but is now a Grand Master Bowman with her longbow.
Sharon has been working hard since the start of the year to improve on her 2017 performance and this has been evident in her results so far this year a summary of which is detailed below:
Bill Tucker Memorial Shoot at Colchester and District Archery club = Hereford Round =372 (master bowman score)
Essex County Championships at Noak Hill Archery Club = Hereford Round = 515 (Grand Master Bowman Score)
Sharon had achieved her Master bowman award in 2017 and was invited to the UK Masters event at Lilleshall the National Archery academy this is an invite only event for people who achieved the master bowman recognition award.
Sundays round was a WA1440 and Sharon shot a personal best of 577 finishing 4th on the day.
After the masters invitational the next event was a county match where Sharin was representing the county in the Longbow category,
Sharon again shot the WA1440 round and again improved on her personal best and scored 578.
One day after the Essex county competition Sharon was shooting the following day at the West Essex Archery club WA1440 round Sharon scored another Grand Master bowman score of 570 and has now applied to the Archery GB governing body to register her achievement of completing the required 3 scores at Grand Master Bowman level and moving.
At the recent competition at Lilleshall Sharon finished 4th in the UK overall for female longbow archers which is a magnificent achievement - Well done Sharon from all the club and we know you will continue to drive yourself for the rest of 2018 so an end of year update will be required.
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
